NEW APPROVED CODE OF PRACTICE FOR WORKPLACE REGULATIONS

The HSE has recently published an updated Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L24 which is designed to make it easier for employers, building owners and landlords to meet their obligations on how to protect the health, safety and welfare of their workers.

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 cover a wide range of health, safety and welfare issues that apply to most workplaces, (not including construction sites, these are included in CDM Regulations).

The ACOP was one of several identified for review, revision, consolidation or withdrawal by Professor Ragnar Lofstedt in his report, ‘Reclaiming Health and Safety for All’.
